The Norwich School Boat Club 1st VIII pre-qualified once again this year off the back of a 3rd place at Marlow Regatta and some good performances at Notts' City Regatta and Ghent Regatta.
Spiral Drama is collaborating with MissAdventures Theatre Company this Summer to bring a very special and unique creative opportunity to Norwich School.
Congratulations to the school's U16 sailing team who had their best performance ever in the 3 day Itchenor Schools Regatta that took place in Chichester Harbour from Sunday to Tuesday this week. Norwich School took four boats on the long journey to compete in the RS Feva class, alongside another 100 boats from various schools, including sailing heavyweights Sevenoaks, Portsmouth Grammar and RGS Guildford.
On Monday 3rd July, an event organised by Norwich School will bring together approximately 500 students from schools across Norfolk for a unique day of activities focused on mental health. The day will be led by Natasha Devon (MBE) and her Self-Esteem Team co-founders Nadia Mendoza and Grace Barrett.
Over the weekend two of Norwich School’s brightest tennis prospects competed at the Aegon British Tour Women’s Open singles in Felixstowe. The tournament was the first played on grass this season for many of the competitors with Wimbledon coming up.
The school’s brand new end-of-year creative arts programme Gather 17 began yesterday with the opening of the A Level Art and Design Exhibition at The Forum. The exhibition is open 9am – 5pm daily until Saturday and now until 4pm on Sunday as well. Entrance to the exhibition is free.
Last night the Intermediate Orchestra represented Norwich School at the annual Dyers’ Schools’ Concert, held in the beautiful Southwark Cathedral, London. Norwich School was again joined by the three other Dyers sponsored schools: Archbishop Tenison’s School; Boutcher Primary School; and St. Saviour’s and St. Olave’s School.
On Sunday 12th June, two Norwich School pupils had the unusual opportunity of speaking at the Ninth International Congress on Arctic Social Sciences, held at the University of Umeå in Sweden.
Perry Cooke (L5C) will be starring in this week’s episode of new ITV show ‘The Voice Kids’. Perry, who has won numerous talent competitions in Norfolk, was a finalist in Sing Your Heart out Norfolk has performed at Blickling Hall Jazz Day, Rackheath Live and is currently in the final of Loddon’s Got Talent.
The annual Deveson Music Prize took place yesterday in the school chapel, with varied and energetic performances throughout the day. Spectators were treated to a broad selection of pieces, by composers including Andrew Lloyd Weber and Mozart.
On a brilliant day for cricket at Norwich School, and the county of Norfolk, the Norwich School Boys U15 team were crowned Norfolk Twenty/20 Cup winners in the county round of the National Cup at Redmayne.
There were a number of impressive performances for the boat club at the prestigious regatta held on at the Olympic Rowing Lake, Eton Dorney, over half term.
A group of Sixth Formers have raised awareness and over £600 for the Norwich-originated charity Street Child. The pupils organised a pie-the-teacher event, ran three five-a-side football tournaments for pupils at the school and sorted bags of donated clothing.
Fifth Former Freddie will balance his training with his school work, combining weekly sessions in Leicester in the Michaelmas Term while studying for his A-Levels and continuing to play for the 1st XV.
Total Ensemble, featuring Upper 6 Lauren Reid-Edwards, rehearse at Norwich School, while the Cathedral Choir features choristers based at Norwich School.
