Laura-Rose Cooke competed at the East Regional finals at Ipswich on Sunday and was crowned East Senior FIG Champion. Her team also won the TEAM FIG Trophy.

On Sunday 17th September, twelve pupils set off for Eton College to take part in the English Chess Federation School's Team Rapidplay Tournament. The competition consisted of 52 teams from 40 of the top chess playing schools in the country.

On Sunday 17th September Esskia (English School Ski Association) held 6 qualifying events around the UK. 14 Pupils from Norwich School competed at the South East event held at Brentwood Park Ski & Snowboard Centre. Norwich School entered 4 teams, two from Lower School (U12 boys and girls) and two senior school team (U14 boys and U19 Mixed).

Congratulations to Luke Shaw (U6V) who competed in the Olympic Hopes Sprint Regatta in The Czech Republic last weekend. Luke is part of the Young Norfolk Sports Academy (YNSA) and was selected to represent Great Britain last year.

Norwich School pupil, and Norwich Cathedral Chorister, Charlotte Pollard has been selected as the reserve for the girls part of the BBC Radio 2 Young Chorister of the Year.

An unprecedented collection of wildlife art called Sketch for Survival will go on view for the very first time at the school’s Crypt Gallery on World Rhino Day, from 10am on Friday 22 September, until 4pm on Saturday 23 September. The exhibition is free and open to members of the public.

Over the summer Ivy Fisher (U4C) qualified for the Pony Club Grassroots Championships, which took place last weekend at Keysoe, Milton Keynes. She was the only rider from the North Norfolk Pony Club to qualify in both Showjumping and Eventing.

Katja Ruda (U5E) has gained a place in the Britten Sinfonia Academy for music. Katja was offered a place having auditioned over the summer in Cambridge and can now look forward to being part of a musical Academy which has the development of young musicians at its heart.

Laura-Rose Cooke (L6C) has been selected to represent England Gymnastics in the prestigious Leverkusen Cup to be held in Leverkusen, Germany at the end of October.

On Friday evening the Norwich School community, including pupils, staff, parents, and Old Norvicensians, joined together for the school’s annual prizegiving in the beautiful setting of Norwich Cathedral.

Skier Alex Ogden (U4N) has had a busy summer, undertaking skiing and fitness training in France before winning Silver at the All England Championships.

Norwich School teacher Mrs. Hill will compete in her third marathon during the October half-term, travelling all the way to Chicago, as part of her lifetime ambition to complete courses in six of the world’s biggest cities.

There are some outstanding individual achievements in the GCSE results this year, with three candidates securing 11 A* grades (or 8/9 equivalent in English/English Lit), 10 pupils with 10 A* (or 8/9 equivalent in English/English Lit) and 26 pupils with at least nine grades at A or A*.

Norwich School are celebrating another strong year of GCSE results, with pupils achieving the highest number of A* grades (or 8/9 equivalent in English/English Literature) since 2013. Almost 75% of all grades awarded were at A*- A.

Norwich School pupils are celebrating another impressive set of A Level results, with almost a quarter of all grades at A* and 3/5 at A*- A. Many pupils have been successful in securing places on the most competitive courses at prestigious universities and the school is delighted by the variety of their chosen paths: from Engineering, Fashion, Law, Veterinary Science and Sports Science, to English, Product Design, Medicine and Textiles.

This morning saw pupils celebrate a fantastic set of results with some outstanding individual attainment. 14 pupils at Norwich School secured three A* grades or better. Well done to all on this fantastic achievement. Norwich School ensures that pupils are given a broad range of extracurricular opportunities, whether that be through sports, the arts and community service or leadership roles. Many of the pupils enjoying success today have an interesting story to tell!

Seven pupils have just returned from an unforgettable trip organised by the school to Borneo. Whilst on the month long adventure, pupils were immersed in the culture, learning the local language and traditional dances and crafts, helping each other through the mud and challenge of the jungle trek, and working together to complete community projects.
