International pupil Carson Wong (L6E) has been shortlisted for the final four of ‘The Next BMW Designer 2017’ competition. The competition, held in Hong Kong, is organised by BMW and invites applications from 10-18 years old to envision their future vehicle in Hong Kong.

Stepping up, that is taking action when the opportunity or need arises, was the theme of the first Leadership and Service conference for students at Norwich School. In a Ted-talk style conference, members of Upper 5 were treated to four excellent speakers: English teacher Mr Andy Fisher, Susie Fowler-Watt (BBC), Dan Edwardes (Parkour Generation) and Freya Aquarone (ON).

The school came together this morning to remember it’s most famous ON Horatio Nelson during the Trafalgar Day Service, held earlier as the school is breaking up for half term today.

On Saturday, 10 boys travelled to Yorkshire for the British Schools Orienteering Championships. With 2 previous medallists in the team, we had reason to travel in hope, but we couldn't have imagined what a successful day it would turn out to be.

The 1st XI hockey team were superb last week at the UEA regionals but narrowly lost out in the final.

This weekend the Under 16 sailing team travelled down to Farmoor reservoir to compete in the Junior section of the prestigious Eric Twiname/ Royal Yachting Association Team Racing Championships.

Preparations are in full swing as Norwich School prepares to host The Hostry Festival Classical Concert in the Blake Studio on Sunday evening. The evening is a brand new event for the Hostry Festival which hopes to celebrate Norfolk’s young emerging musicians.

Yesterday, six geographers from Upper 6 visited the Royal Geographical Society in London to help support an event organised by the Real Africa Trust. 'Explorers against Extinction' saw an evening of talks by famous explorers including Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE and Colonel John Blashford-Snell OBE.

On Wednesday 11th October, selected members of the Chapel Choir travelled to London to sing at the Annual Dyer’s Service.

Last Sunday saw the seniors and U5 members of the boat club race on the River Great Ouse in Bedford.  The 2000m stretch was bathed in Autumn sunshine and the water conditions were fabulous, for fast racing.  It's always a good contest against some of the local Bedford Schools and clubs.

Harry Paterson (L6B) has gained selection for England Hockey’s Advanced Award in Sporting Excellence (AASE) programme 2017/18. He is one of only 65 boys selected from across the country to take part.

Norwich School’s Under 14 ski team won the English Schools’ Ski Association (ESSKIA) National Dry Slope Championships for a remarkable fourth year in a row this weekend.

Norwich School sailor William Pank (M5P) is one of only 16 sailors worldwide who have been invited to compete in the 'Renaissance Re Junior Gold Cup' event. William is the sole representative for Great Britain in the event, which is staged later this month in Bermuda.

The Blake Studio hosted a revival of a Norwich School tradition on Thursday night, as E23 Radio presented Bandfest - a night of rock music from Norwich School's budding (and established) rock stars.

On Tuesday 26th September, the entire senior school gathered in St. Andrew’s Hall for the culmination of this year’s House Music Festival. This comprised of the performances for the Bernard Burrell Memorial Prize, as well as each house’s House Shout.

E23 Radio presents Bandfest is a reincarnation of a popular past school event. The event hopes to give pupils bands the chance to perform in front of an audience, whilst also raising money for charity.

Last week Caitlin Obee took first place in this year’s Bishop’s Prize for Music. The purpose of the Bishop’s Prize for Music is to help young composers find an engagement with the relationship between the Christian Gospel and music in worship.
