My Favourite Book: Nona, Lower School Pupil

In the second post from our World Book Day series, L3 pupil Nona shares all about her favourite book...

My favourite book is Redwall by Brian Jacques. It is a book about mice and other woodland animals such as badgers and hares who live in the Abbey of Redwall. There is an evil rat called Cluny The Scorge. He is an evil savage plotting to overthrow the Abbot of Redwall. The main story is about a young mouse called Matthias and his dreams to become a warrior like Martin The Warrior, a legendary hero of the Abbey who saved Redwall centuries ago. My favourite character in this book is Cornflower, a young field mouse who works at the abbey. She is my favourite character because she is kind and loving to all the animals. She is also quite brave. I have read this book twice as well as having read other books from this series (including Mattimeo, The Bellkeeper and Salamandastron).  I will be reading it again! I first read it to my Dad when I was in year 4. My teacher at the time, Mr Brook, also loves this series.

I absolutely love reading and have read lots of books. I enjoy learning new words and expanding my vocabulary. It gives me ideas for my own storiesMy favourite place to read is in my bed with lots of cushions and blankets! I am currently reading The Gift of Dark Hollow by Kieran Larwood. It is the sequel to The Legend of Podkin One Ear and is another book about animals.
