Kitty Taylor has 1:1 masterclass with Elizabeth Futter, star in 'Wicked'

Earlier this month, Norwich School pupil Kitty Taylor was given the opportunity to have a one on one master class with Elizabeth Futter. Read on below to hear all about her experience, as well as her recent LAMDA Grade 8 exam.

'Two weeks ago I was offered the fantastic opportunity to have a one on one master class with Elizabeth Futter, who played the starring role of Glinda in the touring west end production of Wicked, as well as being in Cats.

This opportunity coincidently came about just a week before my grade 8 LAMDA musical theatre exam, in which one of my chosen songs was ‘Popular’ from wicked, performed by Glinda.

After my session with Lizzie I was a lot more confident in the characterisation of Glinda as well as her mannerisms and the context of the character within the musical. As well as this I had many questions answered about the development of vocal techniques in preparation for performance.

After watching and improving my performance, Lizzie performed a section of ‘Popular’ for me and I feel very privileged to of have been guided and taught by such a talented actress and singer.

I took my exam last week and was able to use my knowledge from the expertise and experience of Lizzie to assist in the movement, sound and portrayal of the song.

Thank you to the Friends of Norwich school for this incredible opportunity, one I will never forget.'
