On Friday 15th February over 80 children along with Lower School staff, chose to participate in our first Lower School Lock-in event to raise money for charity.
The evening began with outdoor games, followed by a biscuit and drink. Following this, the children were able to choose from a variety of activities including Just Dance, Bingo, drawing and time on iPads. We then all gathered in the hall for a very welcome pizza!
Excited children quickly transformed classrooms into bedrooms and settled down to watch a film before bedtime.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and said;
Louisa; “The thing I liked most about the Lock-in was how we all got to sleep together in our classroom and it felt like a giant sleepover.”
Else; “We raised more money than I ever expected and it’s going to really help Street Child.”
Florianna; “It was very fun, you got to spend time with your friends and there was a huge range of activities – I loved Just Dance!”
The Lock-in was held to raise money for the charity Street Child, and with such an overwhelming response from the Lower School, we raised over £2300, which will be matched by the Government under the UK Aid Match scheme. This is more than enough to fulfil our target of building a school in Sierra Leone.
