Pupils participate in #LibraryShelfieDay

22 January 2020

Our pupils celebrated National Library Shelfie day at our Lower School library along with staff at the school.

Held on the fourth Wednesday of January since 2014, Library Shelfie Day was first created by the New York Public Library and is widely shared on social media. On the day, book lovers share selfies of themselves in front of library shelves and in front of the shelves of their personal book collections.

This year, Norwich School staff took pictures of their bookshelves at home and these were placed around the library.  Huge numbers of Lower School pupils then visited the library at lunchtime to see if they could match the “shelfie” to members of staff, using the clues in the photographs.

Lower School Librarian, Mrs Morgan said:

“It was a great activity, not only to encourage pupils into the library, but also do demonstrate to pupils that staff are readers outside of school, and have a wide range of interests.”
