Pupils learn about the 'moon festival' in Mandarin lessons

Norwich Lower School pupils tried mooncakes for the first time on Thursday 12th September. This was to celebrate the 'Mid-Autumn Festival' in one of their Mandarin lessons. 

The 'Mid-Autumn Festival' is also called 'Moon Festival', which is the second biggest festival in China and celebrated by many countries in Asia. It is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar which always at the end of the harvest season. This year it falls on the 13th of September.
