Norwich Lower School Supports Jeans for Genes

30 September 2020

On Thursday 17th September the Lower School came together to support Jeans for Genes Day.

Assemblies explaining the valuable work this charity does, supporting children born and living with many different genetic conditions in Britain, gave our pupils plenty of incentive to participate and enjoy this annual fundraising event.

All pupils - from Reception to Upper 3 - were very excited to come to school wearing jeans and home clothes, each paying a 'fine' of £1 towards Jeans for Genes. Though the usual frenetic cake bake and sale could not be held this year, everyone enjoyed gathering together as much loose change as possible at home for the Silver Coin Challenge - classes working to make a picture of a super-hero out of their pooled coins on the playground. They were all photographed standing proudly with their temporary art work, before all money was gathered to be counted. A fantastic total of £665 was raised - well done, and thanks from Jeans for Genes!
