Norwich Lower School Achieves Prestigious Eco Award for the Second Time!

27 May 2022

We are delighted to announce that Norwich Lower School Eco Council have achieved their Eco Schools Green Flag status once again!

We have been very busy collecting an array of hard-to-recycle items such as crisp packets, used writing instruments and bread bags and sending them off to Hallswood Animal Sanctuary to help them raise vital funds to care for injured animals.  We have also recycled batteries and stamps to prevent these items from ending up in landfill sites.

Energy monitors have regularly been patrolling the classrooms at lunchtimes to ensure lights and whiteboards have been turned off too, which helps us to reduce unnecessary wasted energy.

In May we also completed a beach clean at West Runton as part of our marine action plan. Our Eco Club members have also worked hard on creating content for Camera Kidz, in which they reminded parents the importance of not idling their engines at pick up times!

At every opportunity, we are reminding the school that taking care of the planet is everyone's responsibility, and if we all do our bit, we can make a huge difference!
