On April 25th, 40 very excited members of the Chamber Choir arrived in London to take part in the 25th Anniversary Concert of ‘Young Voices’ at the O2. The original concert in January was postponed due to Covid, so we were really pleased to have this chance to take part in a hugely enjoyable concert, alongside 8000 children!
The atmosphere is always exciting and energetic in this enormous venue, and the children not only got to sing some great songs with a live band, but also had the chance to dance and move with the ’Urban Strides’ Street Dancers. Music ranged from ‘The Lion King’ to classic Beatles numbers.
The choir even had a go at learning beat-boxing this year, which was great fun. This is a chance for everyone to let go and really enjoy themselves!
We returned to school rather bleary- eyed in the early hours, but everyone said it was definitely worth it and they recognised this was a once in a lifetime sort of experience. As one pupil said, ‘Mrs Dunnett – that was amazing!’
