The sun shone for Lower Three’s Library Lock-out last week in Norwich School’s Outdoor Garden. Pupils discussed drawing, writing, books and the environment with local author and illustrator Ivan Bates, and went on to produce their own wildlife-inspired pages, with pictures and captions, using templates designed by the illustrator especially for the occasion.
Following their observing and drawing time, pupils were treated to cookies, fruit and hot chocolate, and had a chance to practice some “readaxation” in the garden, before finishing with toasted marshmallows.
The artwork produced by pupils will be turned into a fact guidebook for the outdoor space.
