Form 3 Visits The Peak District

13 October 2017

Between the 3rd and 6th October, the massed ranks of Form 3 set foot once again upon the green and pleasant land of The Peak District, literally exploring “up hill and down dale”. This entirely bespoke 4-day residential field trip has been running for many years now, and in the process has become an immensely rich source of geographical, physical and character education.

Over the course of the four days, the children walked through the multi-faceted landscape of Dovedale, toured the mineral-rich Treak Cliff Caverns, examined river-flow rates, fossil-hunted, climbed Mam Tor, and measured the age of trees in Sherwood Forest on the journey there. Without a doubt, every child returned somehow ‘better’ for the experience!
