During the first part of half-term, the school’s U16 sailing team took part in the RS Feva National Championships for the first time in its history. The prestigious event, held at Torquay on the south coast of England, involved 110 boats belonging to clubs and schools from around the country.

From April 21^st to 23^rd, Norwich School hosted a unique event – the Norwich Model Arctic Council or NORMAC, which is the only conference of its kind at secondary school anywhere in the world.  For two-and-a-half days, pupils from schools across Norfolk, London and from as far afield as Bilbao, Spain, played the roles of diplomats attending the Arctic Council as part of an innovative experiential learning programme.

Ahead of the new academic year, former acting Head of Fourth Form and new Head of Fifth Form Andrew Rowlandson, wrote an article for Norfolk Magazine focussing on one of the great challenges faced by pupils across the country, the step up to senior school.

Joe Gatting, Cricket Professional at Norwich School and Swardeston CC vice-captain, put in a match winning performance this weekend as Swardeston kept pace in the hunt for the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League title.

Norwich School teacher Mrs. Hill will compete in her third marathon during the October half-term, travelling all the way to Chicago, as part of her lifetime ambition to complete courses in six of the world’s biggest cities.

On the day of the Norfolk U19 Twenty20 finals day, awards were made for the player of the final, best batsman and best bowler of the tournament.

Artefacts loaned by the school to Norwich Castle have formed part of new major exhibition dedicated to Norwich School’s most famous Old Norvicensian, Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson.

The Young Norfolk Sports Academy (YNSA) is an initiative set up by Norwich School three years ago to provide expert advice and support to talented young athletes from across Norfolk.

This last week Norwich School hosted one hundred and fifty of the brightest sixth formers from fifteen state schools around Norfolk and North Suffolk, with students travelling daily from as far as King's Lynn, Great Yarmouth and Thetford.

Yesterday almost 500 year nine pupils from across Norfolk came together at Norwich School to talk about body image, social media and self-confidence, at a workshop designed to boost their wellbeing.

On Tuesday 13th June Norwich School officially launched it's Cricket Academy in partnership with Sussex County Cricket Club.

The long weekend during half-term was a successful one for the Norwich School Boat Club, with three boats bringing home medals at the National Schools' Regatta.

Norwich School was well represented at the opening of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival last week. Members of the Norwich-based Total Ensemble Theatre Company, including Lauren Reid Edwards (U6V), who rehearse at Norwich School performed at the Forum to open the festival.

Lower 4 pupils William Farrow (L4S), Oliver Millett (L4E) and Farren Miller (L4V) helped Norwich City Hockey Club Under-12 boys to the National Finals of the England Hockey In2HockeyClubs Competition.

Pupils at Norwich School have raised over £300 for the Norwich based charity Care for Children. The money has been raised whilst also increasing awareness and helping with important research for the charity as part of the pupil’s weekly community outreach programme.
