Third Norfolk Cambridge Society Lecture to take place

The third Norfolk Cambridge Society Lecture will take place from 6.40pm to 8pm on Tuesday 30 April in the Refectory, Norwich School. Professor Charles ffrench-Constant, Professor of Medical Neurology at the University of Edinburgh, will be speaking on “Regenerative Medicine - can we help the brain repair itself?”. Registration will begin at 6pm and refreshments will be served both before and after the lecture (please note the change of format on this occasion).

Charles ffrench-Constant was Professor of Neurological Genetics at the University of Cambridge from 1999 to 2007 and has since been Professor of Medical Neurology at the University of Edinburgh, where he combines expertise both as a neuroscientist and a clinical geneticist. He has made fundamental and sustained contributions that underpin much contemporary research in developmental and regenerative neuroscience and his reputation is international. Regenerative medicine is one of the most exciting fields of medical research today.

The event is open not only to Cambridge alumni but also to anyone with an interest in the subject matter.

Tickets are priced at £15 per person. However, for people in full-time adult education, for senior citizens over 60 and for all tickets bought and paid for before Thursday 21 March, the price will be reduced to £10 per person. There is also a strictly limited number of tickets priced at £5 available to sixth form students accompanied by parents or teachers. All prices include refreshments. The Norfolk Cambridge Society Lectures are held quarterly, with the aim of bringing distinguished speakers to Norwich and making a significant contribution to the intellectual life of the county.

Please note that the first two lectures were over-subscribed and all seats were sold several weeks beforehand. You are therefore strongly advised to book early.
