ON Paddy Bartram Involved in Short Film Coming to Norwich Film Festival

11 October 2018

Paddy Bartram (ON 04-11) is the Director of Photography for ‘Their War’, a short film coming to the Norwich Film Festival on the 18th November.

‘Their War’ tells the tale of two soldiers, one English, one German, during World War One. It follows the two men as they leave their families behind to answer their country's call to arms. The story goes with them as they try to adjust to life in the trenches and come to terms with the harsh realities of war.

‘Their War’ will be featured in the East Anglian Collection in the Norwich Film Festival, which celebrates short films made in East Anglia or by an East Anglian filmmaker. The Norwich Film Festival was founded in 2009 and has become an international film festival which takes place annually in Norwich during November. Films submitted to the Festival have gone on to win awards at BAFTA and the Oscars, as well as other festivals such as Sundance, Tribeca and SXSW.

Paddy was part of the production crew for the film, taking on the role of Director of Photography. The short was shot on location in and around East Anglia in April 2018 and is the debut film from writer, director and producer Max Mason.

After leaving Norwich School in 2011, Paddy went on to study Geography at Exeter University, but soon realised his passion lay in video and filmmaking. His interests in skiing and snow sports soon developed into him creating winter promotional videos for tour operator NUCO Travel, along with his partner Will March. Together they created the company Switch Films, which now produces branded content for various companies and documentaries.
