ON Angus Darrah to take part in the Mongol charity Rally

23 January 2017

On 17th July 2017 Old Norvicensian Angus Darrah (05-13) and ex-pupil of Wymondham College Edward Gilford will be taking part in the Mongol charity Rally. This involves attempting to drive the 10,000 or so miles from the UK to Mongolia, in a 1.2L 2005 Vauxhall Corsa! Sounds totally mad we hear you say? And yes we would have to agree it is really quite mad! Over the course of the adventure we will pass through 21 countries, cross mountain ranges, ford rivers, blast across deserts and cruise across the Eurasian steppe. This is not a race and the true victory will actually be making it to the finish line, and in the words of the Rally's organisers The Adventurists "If nothing goes wrong, everything has gone wrong".

Our team name is So Hot It Yurts, and you can follow us on our Facebook page here.

Given the epic proportions of our undertaking we would be hugely grateful for any amount of donation towards our two chosen charities: Dementia UK and Cool Earth. ALL the money you donate goes towards these two charities and does in no way contribute towards the adventure. Cool Earth is a charity that is working to prevent the further destruction of our world's rainforest. The charity 'works alongside indigenous villages to halt rainforest destruction'.
