ON Alice Campbell Davis (09-11) is a winner in Oxford University Mooting Competition

22 February 2019

Congratulations to the winners of the University of Oxford Maitland Chambers Inter-Collegiate Mooting Competition 2019, Tilman Koops and ON Alice Campbell Davis (09-11) from Pembroke College.

Mooting is an important part of legal education at Oxford University. A moot court competition simulates a court hearing (usually an appeal against a final decision), in which participants analyse a problem, research the relevant law, prepare written submissions, and present oral argument. Moot problems are typically set in areas of law that are unsettled or that have been subject to recent developments. They usually involve two grounds of appeal, argued by each side. The mooters are required to present their submissions and answer any questions from the judge before the court adjourns and the judge returns to deliver a judgment.

Congratulations Alice!!
