James Hastings (12-17) undertakes ambitious fundraising challenge for Mind

26 May 2021

ON James Hastings (12-17) is embarking on an ambitious fundraising effort to raise money for Mind Charity, an organisation who provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Mind work in partnership with the English Football League to raise awareness of mental health and to encourage men and women to talk and seek help. In order to support such an invaluable charity in 2021, James is planning to run 1939km - the distance between the current 24 Championship Club’s grounds, starting and finishing at Carrow Road.

He intends to achieve this by completing each of the following mini-challenges:

  • 2 marathons - mental health is the second biggest disease in England
  • 24 half marathons – the number of clubs in the Championship
  • 75 ten kilometres - the anniversary Mind are celebrating in 2021
  • 125 five kilometres – the number of UK Mind centres

On Sunday 30th May James will complete the first of his two marathons, running a route through London. He is hoping to reach £2500 by the end of the month and you can support him and find out more about his challenge by visiting his JustGiving page here.

Good luck James!
