Friends of Norwich School

Who are the Friends of Norwich school?

The Friends community incorporates past pupils and their parents, current parents and anyone in the wider community who has an interest in Norwich School. This diversity is represented in the committee membership. Social activities at school are organised by a separate team made up of current parents and supported by the Friends Committee. The following parents are in the Social Committee: Kevin Keeble, Nicola Cruickshank, Claire Cullens, Suzie Bartram, Katie Montgomery, Jo Hood , Carey Briggs and Sue Clayton. Kevin, Nicola, Suzie, Jo and Claire are also members of the Friends committee.  Kevin and Nicola have recently taken up new roles as Chair and Vice chair of the Friends committee.

How have the Friends funds been spent this year?

After a particularly successful fundraising year, Friends have been able to meet every request made by the staff for funds, as well as support two sixth form bursaries.

Friends fund activities that enrich pupils’ experience of school life and a snap shot of this year’s funding indicates the breadth and diverse range of opportunities available to Norwich School pupils.

This year we have purchased camera equipment for the Music department, editing software and a computer for the Aspect Film makers and a motion based camera for the rowing club. Some of the clubs we have supported include: bushcraft survival, languages and cheerleading. We will be replacing playground equipment in the Lower School as well as extending the Trim Trial. Friends’ funds will also support a “Day of Languages” and an exciting new lecture programme in 2015. We would like to thank you for all your support at our events and of the 2nd hand uniform shop, as this has enabled us to support so many pupil activities.
