Outward Bound

8th Norwich Sea Scouts

8th Norwich (Norwich School) Sea Scout group is a Royal Navy recognised group sponsored by Norwich School. Recruiting solely from the school, it provides a broad scouting programme with an emphasis on outdoor adventure and water sports. The group is one of the largest and most active in the UK and provides evening, weekend and residential activities to over 200 girls and boys aged 8 to 18. The Group is split into three sections: Cubs (age 8-10); Scouts (age 10-14); and Explorers (age 14-18).

As an RYA Sailing and Power boating Centre the group is well-equipped to provide skills and instructor training. It also provides training in mountain biking, navigation, backwoods cooking and first aid. We run a wide range of residential activities:

  • Hill-walking during the Michaelmas and Lent half-term break
  • Broads cruises in the autumn and during the Easter holidays.
  • A two-week summer camp
  • A shorter, canoeing based, alternative camp in the first half of August
  • A sailing course during the Trinity half-term.
