The 1st XV put on an impressive display of running rugby.  The work rate and aggressive contact skills of the front five gave the platform for some quick ball, which allowed the backs to run at the Colchester defence.  We were 33-0 up at half-time and although the points fest  dried up a little in the second half, we continued to dominate.  Billy Clayton ran in two tries and Callum White kicked confidently, scoring 15 points.

The 2nd XV played superb rugby in an impressive 57-0 victory.  Putting into practice what we had trained to do during the week, the forwards either managed to off-load from the tackle or secured quick, clean ball, which allowed the backs to score 8 clinical tries of the 9 scored.  This was 15-man rugby at its best and a number of parents on the touch-line commented on what an entertaining game it had been to watch.  The DSP specialist, Duncan Jamieson, was player of the day and Huffy Scott was iron man.

57-0 victory is sweet

The Under 16A XV showed tremendous grit and determination in a close game, with Jacob Williams the talisman.  The Under 15A XV and B XV continued the winning run: the A XV won 17-7 and the B XV won more convincingly.  It  was a fiercely contested match, but the pack scrummaged aggressively and the backs used the probing kicks of Olly Ebbage to great effect, constantly putting pressure on the Colchester back line.

The Under 14 sides rounded off the clean sweep with the A XV winning 48-5 while the B XV also ran out convincing winners with Ben Smith scoring 3 of the 8 tries.  Tom Power and Tom Sampson deserve special mention for agreeing to play for the opposition who arrived 2 men short.
