Despite this, Norwich started extremely well with some brilliant defending by Megan Eldridge and superb distribution by Lizzie Jones meant that Norwich had the upper hand in the early exchanges. Unfortunately, however, Wymondham struck from a well struck short corner to take the lead. Norwich battled hard and equalised after some real persistence from the constantly dangerous Lucy Crawford to make the score 1-1 at half time. Wymondham scored twice more, the first from a harshly awarded short corner to put them 3-1 up before some good skills by Amy Campbell brought the score back to 3-2. Another late goal from Wymondham meant the game ended with a 4-2 defeat that did not really do justice to an excellent performance.
