House Cricket Competition
27 May 2012
On a glorious summer day the School’s cricketers played out the inaugural House 6-a-side Cricket Competion with 4 matches going on at any one time. Will Pointer (ON) provided the tunes and Lightfoot Catering kept us all sustained with a delicious barbeque. In the Under 12/13 competition, Nelson proved unbeatable. Individual awards were won by Alfie Woodrow for his excellent batting and by Connor White for his consistent bowling. In the Under 14/15 competition, Nelson again reached the final, but in an exciting match fell 4 runs short with Coke the victors. Alex Fisher won the bowling award and Sam Hunt, the winning captain, took the batting award. Congratulations to all who took part in this festival of cricket, in particular the staff who umpired the games, the House Masters who gave their sides tremendous support and the parents who supported their charges. Above all, thanks to Ed Hopkins who was the mastermind behind the whole event.
