Matches v Langley
1st team – Won 16-14
Langley batted first, which allowed us to take an early lead after the first innings of 10˝ to 7. Langley batted well in the second innings increasing their total to 14 which put us under pressure in our final batting innings. With tight fielding from Langley, it came down to the last three balls. Alice Rickett managed to secure a rounder and a half on the second to last ball to secure the win.

Under 16A – Won 18 ˝ - 12 ˝
The U16 team had an exciting game against Langley. One player down and losing 5-6˝at the end of the first innings meant we had to up our game. Our fielding was much tighter in the second innings and our batting was accurate and strong. We came back to win 18˝-12˝ overall.

Under 14A – Won 21˝ - 2
The U14As displayed solid fielding throughout the game, only allowing Langley to score a total of two rounders. In both of their innings all 9 of Langley’s players were given out and we went on to notch up an excellent batting total thanks to excellent hitting from the whole team. An all round brilliant performance that gives the U14As a very promising start to what should be a great term of rounders.

Under 14B – Won 10˝ - 9˝
This being the first fixture game of the season, the U14's focused on finding their feet in the first innings and understanding Langley’s approach to play. Steady progression lead to our team catching all of Langley out before the end of the first half, but on an even score of 4˝ to 4˝. The second innings saw more skilful and tactical play, with some excellent backstop and fourth cover from Esther Anderson, confident catching from fielders and some smashing batting and full rounders scored by Rishika Kaushal.

Under 13A - Won 24˝ - 2˝
The U13 A team fielded excellently in the 1st innings, only allowing Langley to score 1˝ rounders. We then punished Langley’s inexperienced fielding and notched up a superb total of 24˝ thanks to some excellent hitting from Sophie Wigglesworth, Alice Hopgood and Hermione Buttery. Alex Le Mesurier also took some excellent catches in the field to contribute to a well-deserved win.

Under 13B – Won 18-8
Despite being a delayed start to the season owing to bad weather, the U13Bs won with a very convincing victory in their first match against Langley. The girls fielded neatly from the outset, communicating well and catching all the opposition out after only 22 balls in the first innings. There were some excellent hits made by Anna Chamberlain, Jemima Waring and Jemima Sanders with Alice Whitmore scoring the most rounders. A special mention must also be made to the impressive efforts of Bethan Sandall who stepped up from Lower 4 to make up the team.

Under 12A – Won 13 ˝ - 10
An excellent first outing for the U12A team. It took a while to get our eye in batting wise but by the second innings our hitting was far better than that of the opposition and we notched up a good batting total thanks particularly to some excellent hitting from Lauren Rowe. Tight fielding from the whole team, good communication and some excellent catches from Olivia Keable, Hannah Shippam, Harriet Watts and Honor Farrant denied Langley any real scoring opportunities in the second innings and we won the match by 3˝ rounders.
Player of the match: Lauren Rowe
Under 12B – Lost 16 – 2 ˝
We started well in the first innings notching up a lead of 2 rounders. Unfortunately some slightly sloppy fielding and some no balls in the second innings allowed Langley back into the game and we couldn’t match their batting total in the second innings.
