Intermediate Maths Challenge

By virtue of their scores in the Intermediate Maths Challenge, 5 pupils qualified to sit the Intermediate Maths Olympiad paper. This demanding paper was only sat by the top 1600 young mathematicians in the country and to earn any sort of prize is a considerable achievement. Jonny Hewitt and Santosh Saravanavel of Lower 5 scored 21 and 13 respectively (out of 60) and receive certificates of Merit. In most previous years a Merit has been the highest award that anyone at Norwich School has achieved. But this year we have 2 pupils who have been awarded medals. These are only awarded to the top 100 scorers, and the combined memories of the Maths department can only recall one previous medallist at Norwich School. Cameron Magrath scored 40 (out of 60) and June Whee Lee scored 48 to earn their medals and certificates of Distinction. This is a remarkable achievement!
