1st XV – Lost 10-13
It was certainly a game of two halves influenced by the wind. We played into the wind in the first half and struggled for any positive field position and only came away with a James Nolan penalty after conceding a try and two penalties. Half time score 13-3 to Gresham’s. Still struggling to get to grips with the interpretation of the breakdown we fought hard in the second half using the wind as best we could to get solid field position. After some persistent pressure Tejiri scored in the right hand corner followed by a brilliant conversion by James Nolan taking the score to 10-13. Despite all our efforts we were unable to convert any more chances.
Iron man:George Salter
Player of the day: Tejiri Oghemereho
Congratulations to Tejiri Oghemereho and Aaron Murphy on being awarded their 20 Cap ties.
2nd XV – Lost 7-19
More backs to the wall stuff for the 2nd XV in a game where we spent most of the afternoon honing our tackling skills. Our only points came from a converted try from Cassian Graham after a quick 5 metre penalty, but in truth, we never managed to keep the ball for long enough to mount any real pressure on the Gresham’s line. Although we tackled valiantly all afternoon; Patrick Gregory, Michael Barclay, Christian Hansen, Arthur Chapman, James Applegate are all worthy of mention, we couldn’t stop a strong and physical Gresham’s side crossing our line on 3 occasions.

3rd XV – Lost 10-33
A weakened 3rd XV put up a spirited, but error-strewn display against Gresham’s. The first half was dominated by the opposition but we scored a late try through Laurence Lui to go in at half time 12-7 in arrears. Poor defence led to Gresham’s scoring 3 unanswered tries in the second half but we came back into the game and Laurence Lui crossed the line once more in the last 5 minutes.

Under 16A XV – Lost 0-22
Under 16B XV – Won 20-10
Player of the day: Harry McNally
Under 15A XV – Won 25-24
To steal a football cliché, this was a game of two halves. Playing with the elements in the first half we put together an impressive performance scoring 17 unanswered points and having two tries controversially disallowed. Playing into the wind in the second half, we conceded an early try but hit back immediately to lead 22-7. As the penalty count increased and our frustration mounted Gresham's began to exert the pressure and scored 3 tries to lead 24-22 with minutes to play. From the restart a knock on gave us an attacking platform and as we moved towards the line, Gresham's infringed at the breakdown and Joe Cooper, with time up, calmly slotted the kick. A deserved win.
Player of the Day: Max Grimmer
Under 15B XV – Won 27-0
We produced our strongest performance of the season thus far to beat Gresham’s comprehensively. From the game's opening exchanges the pack emphasised their dominance over a large opposition pack. The first try was created through good interplay between backs and forwards after Ted Clifton had broken the opposition's defensive line. The movement was completed when Simon Proctor fired a perfect pass to Ed Smith at full back. Two quick tries by Ted Clifton (one of which was converted by Adam Clayton) saw us move away from the opposition. A try by Chris Bayton at the end of the half, exploiting a Gresham’s mistake, meant that we went in at half time 22-0 to the good.
The second half saw possession shared much more equally between the teams, but our scramble defence was outstanding with all 15 players contributing to the defensive effort with scarcely a tackle missed. Chris Bayton scored his second for the afternoon to finish the scoring.
Player of the day: Ted Clifton
Under 14A XV – Lost 19-24
Under 14B XV – Won 55-0
Tries for Sebastian Conway (3), Tristan Green (2) , Cameron McLaren (2), Toby Bennett and Sam Carding
Conversions: Briscoe (3), Simmons (1) and Cameron McLaren (1)
A strong first half saw Norwich score 5 tries to turn around 31-0 ahead. The second half (up the hill!) was even more impressive, with some very controlled rugby and 4 tries which combined individual skills with the successful application of moves practised on the training ground. Gresham's kept trying hard and both sides played in a good spirit; thanks to Ben Eccleshall and Matt Mackintosh for playing a half each for Gresham's, who were a man short. There was good handling and excellent offloading, especially in the backs. The stand-out players were both forwards, Seb Conway (iron man) and Rob Brett (man of the match); Rob's captaincy kept the team focused, and it was good to see so many players take responsibility for the decisions and moves they made.
