Rugby Club results v RGS Colchester

9 October 2011

Rugby Club results v RGS Colchester

1st XV – Won 25-20

The 1st XV played some exceptional rugby, beating a strong and skilful Colchester side.  The win was set up by a massive effort from all the forwards who worked tirelessly throughout the game.  Their work rate in defence and attack really set the platform for some clever decision making by the half-backs.  Harry Adams scored the first try after chasing a clever kick through the defensive line by Henry Parkinson and Harry added another in the second half finishing off a good passage of play to score in the corner.

Seth Rodger and Tom Gosling scored the other two tries taking the score to 25-8, but Colchester scored two quick tries soon after, which led to a tense finish.  We managed to hold out the Colchester charge, coming out victorious 25-20.  A very impressive display by the entire forward pack.

Iron man – George Salter

Player of the Day – Ben Place

Under 15A XV - won 45-5

Under 14A XV - Lost 0-29

Despite a couple of lapses in concentration during the second half, contributing to two soft tries, the team fought courageously against one of the best sides at this age group on the circuit.
