Norwich School's Norfolk Young Musicians

1 September 2011

mm

Last Saturday 27th August, Cameron Johnson U6V and Victoria Brandwood ON performed in a concert at Aylsham Church after their participation in the Norfolk Young Musician Competition when Victoria was awarded the Aylsham Music Society's most promising young wind player. Tori performed a challenging Sonata for Flute by Copland and a Romance by Saint Saens.
Cameron played two movements of the Hummel Concerto on the trumpet, a Tarentella by Himes on the flugelhorn followed by his favourite Tico Tico by Abreu finishing the concert on a very high and upbeat note!!

Earlier in the holidays, on Saturday 16 July, with the Norwich Mozart Orchestra conducted by Colin Dowdeswell, Cameron delighted the Bungay Festival audience with a dazzling performance of Haydn's Trumpet Concerto.

Thomas Isaac, Norfolk Young Musician 2010, will be performing a lunch time concert on Thursday 15th September as part of the Aylsham Concert Series. He will be playing a programme that includes a Bach unaccompanied cello suite and the Sonata in E minor by Brahms.
