UNDER 12 XI CROWNED COUNTY CHAMPIONS

7 July 2011

The U12 XI completed a memorable treble for the School by winning the County cup final. They emulated the U15s and U14s in winning their cup final and now represent Norfolk in next year’s national competition.

Asked to bat first, the School were indebted to Nico Papworth who top scored with 55 in a final total of 119 for 9 in their 30 overs.  Credit to the lower order who ensured that we batted our 30 overs and set a competitive target.

In reply, Langley were restricted by excellent bowling from Alfie Woodrow, who finished with 2 for 17, and Kit Warde Aldam, but it was the introduction of Connor White, 3 for 13 off 5 overs, and Tristan Hipper 2 for 9 off 5 overs , that changed the game.  They both bowled straight and full to such an extent that their five wickets were all either bowled or LBW.  Having been 55 for 2, Langley crumbled to 73 all out with Alex Bilalis- Stone and Rory Bartram bagging the last two wickets to seal a 46 run victory.

The win ensures that the U12s have completed an unbeaten season with 8 wins out of 8.
