Athletics Match v Langley

The Norwich team held sway on the track, while Langley dominated in the field. The competition was made up of a 6th form match and a 5th form match. In the 6th form event, Norwich winners were Lawrence Truscott in the triple jump, Sam Comer in the javelin and Dapo Olaleye in the 100m and 200m. Unfortunately these victories were not enough and Langley won by 71 points to 58. In the 5th form match, Norwich's winners were Harry Adams in the triple jump and long jump, Billy Trend in the 1500m, Jack Muchlinski in the 400m and 800m, and Tejiri Ighonomeriho (TJ) in the 100m and 200m. These excellent performances ensured the 5th form won their match, 67 points to 62. The final score of the 2 matches combined was Langley 133, Norwich 125.
So a narrow loss overall, but many individual successes to celebrate, and the success of the 5th form team bodes well for the future.
