1st XI Cricket Report Vs Woodbridge

19 May 2010

Norwich won the toss and asked Woodbridge to bat on what looked to be a good wicket despite a 15 minute downpour just before the start.
Good, fast, accurate bowling meant that Woodbridge never got going scoring only 13 from the first 9 overs. The second string bowlers were equally accurate, gradually working their way through the Woodbridge batsmen. Again the ground fielding and support were a distinctive feature of the Norwich's approach.
Woodbridge were all out for 137 in the 34th over

Best bowling performance:
Ben Place 4 - 22
Josh Chatland 2-29
W Kennard 2-16

Norwich then batted getting off to a flying start with good running, turning singles into twos, enabling a total of 59 by the eighth over before the loss of the first wicket. Will Bryan batted with his usual self control and providing a good foil for Sam Plater who continued in cavalier mode being out for 55 from 33 balls just before the winning runs were hit.

Best batting performances:
Sam Plater 55
James Hooper 30
Will Bryan 19

Result: Norwich won by 7 wickets.
