League Table ranks Norwich School as top independent school in Norfolk at A-level

28 August 2013

We are delighted that Norwich School is yet again ranked as the top independent school in Norfolk and Suffolk in league tables published this weekend.

The Daily Telegraph league table for 2013, which ranks all independent schools across the country, placed Norwich School 55th out of 315 independent schools at A-level with 66.3% of candidates achieving A*/A grades.

Head Master Steffan Griffiths said “The performance of this cohort is most pleasing, particularly as this table position is linked with an outstanding A* total of 26.4%. Consequently, according to a table in The Times this weekend, 75% of this year’s Norwich School U6 secured places at the most competitive, selective universities, once again placing it among the very best co-educational day schools in the country.

“However, even more importantly, we have achieved one of our key aims in helping all pupils to get to their chosen tertiary place of study : 86% of our 6th form pupils secured a place at their first choice; a further 10% at their second choice; a further 3% found places through clearing or adjustment. For 99% of those who entered the UCAS system from Norwich School this year to have found a place is an excellent achievement; I offer my congratulations both to the pupils for their hard work and their teachers for their expert guidance.”

The Daily Telegraph independent school league tables are created using data supplied by the Independent Schools Council and include schools with 10 candidates or more.
