Entry testing and UKiset

It is important to know that the application process for entry to Norwich School is highly competitive and selective in nature.

We will consider applicants put forward by agents and are also happy to receive direct approaches and applications. We seriously consider all quality applicants that show an interest in Norwich School.

We expect levels of English to be high; an IELTS score of 5.5 at 15.5 years old is a good marker. We test English proficiency through the Oxford English Placement Test, which all candidates take. If applicants wish to study Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Maths, they must take further tests to move through the application process. If candidates are successful at OPET, school tests and a face-to-face or Skype interview, they are put forward by the International Admissions team for consideration by the Head Master and the Director of Development & Engagement. The decision made at this meeting is final.

We are happy to accept applicants throughout the school year and will indicate on our website when our international list is full.

We of course accept UKiset results, but candidates should expect to sit further tests. If you have already taken UKiset please complete the ‘School Selection Form’ on the UKiset website and we will respond accordingly when we receive your UKiset Profile Package.

Tier 4 Student Visas

As a Tier 4 Sponsor we are happy to provide a Confirmation of Acceptance to Study to enable Tier 4 entry to the UK once a place has been accepted at the school. We do not issue a CAS until mid-June.

Homestay

As a day-school we use the services of homestay parents to lodge our international pupils and we have a number of well-established and very experienced homestay parents. All our homestay parents have been appropriately interviewed and police-checked. The welfare, happiness, safety and security of our international pupils is absolutely paramount. Our present homestay pupils speak highly of the environment in which they lodge and study.

Gabbitas Education, London, run and manage our homsetay scheme. They also act as guardians for our international pupils.

Guardianship

Guardianship is provided by Gabbitas Education. Pupils can nominate other guardians, as necessary, but should confirm details with the school (and Gabbitas) well before arrival in the UK.
