Exhibitions & awards
Exhibitions
Exhibitions are given to selected high-achieving Lower School pupils at the time when they join the Senior School. Candidates are expected to take the 11+ entrance and Scholarship examinations alongside external applicants. These financial awards which amount to between £250 and £550 are given as one-off payments in the first Michaelmas Term when the pupil starts in the Senior School.
Music Awards
Music Awards are offered to talented musicians who applied for, but have unfortunately not gained, a Music Scholarship and who, in the opinion of the Director of Music, are able to make a significant contribution to the musical life of the School. Holders of Music Awards granted before 1 September 2010 will be entitled to keep their Awards until the time they leave Norwich School.
Music Awards of £500 per annum are granted to assist Parents towards the cost of music lessons or towards the cost of the purchase or repair of a musical instrument. The Music Award is paid to Parents on presentation to the Bursary of the relevant music lesson or musical instrument invoice before the end of the academic year to which the Music Award relates.
A maximum of 30 Music Awards are available in any one academic year and Music Awards are only valid for a single academic year. A pupil may be offered up to two Music Awards in any year and Awards are given in recognition of instrumental or vocal talent. Those pupils interested in applying for a Music Award will need to apply for a Music Scholarship (by ticking the relevant box on the application form) in order to be considered.
